(El Paso, TX) – Nov. 13, 2018 – Youth today are not self-identifying as entrepreneurs. While schools have effective models for nurturing the academic aspect of student development, they do not have the resources to create a system that harvests the entrepreneurial development of students. To bridge this gap, STTE is bringing in a global partner (Techstars) that will excite, engage and funnel students into programs that advance entrepreneurial aspirations.
As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Techstars will visit El Paso to host the first-ever high school entrepreneurial Techstars pilot project at the two largest El Paso School Districts — El Paso Independent School District and Socorro Independent School District. The estimated number of high school youth impacted will be 800-1,000.
Techstars (Program Partner) is the worldwide network that helps entrepreneurs succeed. Their mission is to foster inclusion and diversity throughout our entrepreneurial ecosystem. (https://www.techstars.com/)
The Success Through Technology Education (STTE) Foundation (Organizing Partner) mission is to discover, develop and deploy entrepreneurship and technology education content for middle school, high school, and college students to support a thriving entrepreneurial culture. Microsoft (Sponsoring Partner) is invested in supporting youth in technology.
