Pop Culture Contest Pairs Arts & STEAM To Inspire Future Entrepreneurs

(El Paso – December 18, 2019) – STTE Foundation has launched FootPrint, a custom shoe creation contest that inspires and educates youth in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, and Entrepreneurship. 

WHO: Success Through Technology Education (STTE) Foundation

WHAT: A STEAM and entrepreneurship competition starting with the kick-off of a shoe design contest. Commencing in 2020, STTE will advance the program to focus on 3D printing, technology, culture and entrepreneurship.

WHEN: Wednesday, December 18, 2019 through Tuesday, December 31, 2019

WHERE: Students, and educators can register at https://sttefoundation.org/footprint/ The first phase of the competition focuses on artists and creators uploading their artwork to STTE’s ‘Unicorn Teens’ app accessible on the Google Play and Apple Stores.

HOW: High school artists and creators will sketch custom shoes and upload their designs to ‘Unicorn Teens’ app. After the completion of the first phase, students will be taken on an entrepreneurial journey to 3D print (engineering & prototyping), incorporate health tech (science & technology), and learn how to market their shoes (math & entrepreneurship). 

WHY: To promote inclusion to the arts in STEAM. FootPrint teaches youth the importance of STEAM applications by providing a real-world experience to teach prototyping and marketing of products. Additionally, FootPrint focuses on harvesting an entrepreneurial ecosystem for youth. STTE encourages students at any ability level to participate in FootPrint. ###
