A message to our community about COVID-19 and our future plans (or solution)

Dear Community,

First and foremost, on behalf of the Success Through Technology Education (STTE) Foundation, we hope that you and your loved ones are safe and adjusted to the circumstances presented as a result of the global pandemic, COVID-19.

STTE Foundation is committed to enhancing the regional economy through educational programs, maximizing meaningful partnerships, and embracing family support mechanisms. While this year poses a unique challenge due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are happy to inform you that we are taking all precautions necessary to ensure our youth and community remain safe. In light of this, STTE is postponing STEAM to the summertime, tentatively set for Friday, June 5, 2020.

Though we shift your attention to the unprecedented circumstance, we are optimistic about what new opportunities moving the event to summertime presents. STEAM 2020, taking place at the University of Texas at El Paso, is open for all families and communities to attend. We hope to offer families the opportunity to come together and experience the power of STEAM education. All attendees will be exposed to the wonders of augmented reality through immersive and futuristic learning environments. Please, rest assured that the safety and cleanliness of the facility will be our top priority.

We would like to briefly share with you the steps STTE has already taken to prepare our future for this ever-challenging economy.

  • Last year, we partnered with El Paso Electric to begin developing a new wave of 3D and augmented reality creators. Students in STTE programs are now equipped with the necessary skills to build future learning environments in Unity 3D and Oculus. See some of the student-created environments at STTEfoundation.org/suncity

  • We also launched a social media augmented reality challenge that challenges youth to create fun videos using tech and TikTok. See more at STTEfoundation.org/archallenge

  • Through the support of Prudential, we challenged students to solve the digital divide internet accessibility issue and provide digital literacy solutions using mathematics. Challenges that we are currently experiencing. You can see their real-world mathematical solution papers at STTEfoundation.org/pmc

We want to thank you for your commitment to STTE and trust that we will continue to promote STEAM education and prepare youth in programs that attempt to solve real-world challenges.

If you would like to help support our STEAM program and ensure we continue to prepare the future workforce, please email joseph@sttefoundation.org or call (915) 240 – 5571.

The El Paso community and the world alike will soon thrive once more. Thank you for your time.
